Exclude customers from GEM-MONEY
Starting with GEM-CAR 14, you can opt out customers from GEM-MONEY. For excluded customers, there will be no more GEM-MONEY-related messages on estimates and invoices. This is useful for commercial customers, for example. To do so, follow the instructions below.
- In the Customer management window, on the Additional information tab, select a customer on the list.
- Select the Exclude from GEM-MONEY box.
- Select the Diskette button to save.
Price level
If you configured price matrices for inventory items, you can assign price levels to customers. This way, when adding these inventory items to estimates, discount levels apply automatically and show on invoices. To do so, follow the instructions below.
- In the Customer management window, on the Additional information tab, select a customer on the list.
- Enter the price level in the Price level field.
- Select the diskette button to save.
Assign sales representatives
You can assign sales representatives to customer profiles. This is useful for generating statistics and reports, notably for the Sales by vendor report. To ensure accurate calculations, new assignations affect future sales only. To do so, follow the instructions below.
- In the Customer management window, on the Additional information tab, select a customer on the list.
- Select an advisor using the Sales rep drop-down menu.
- Select the Diskette button to save.
Associate tax groups with customers
You can distribute your customers between different tax groups to suit several needs. If you associate tax groups with customers, when you sell services to them in the Point of sale, these tax groups apply automatically. This is notably useful for customers with tax exemptions or when selling in multiple provinces or states. To do so, follow the instructions below.
- In the Customer management window, on the Additional information tab, select a customer on the list.
- Select the STD button.
- In the Tax group management window, double-click on a tax group on the list.
- Back in the Customer management window, select the diskette button to save.
Language of correspondence
To change the language of correspondence with a customer, follow the instructions below.
- In the Customer maintenance window, on the Additional information tab, select the customer on the list.
- Select the language using the Communication drop-down menu.
- Select the Diskette to save.
This procedure changes the language of the estimate and invoice models only. It doesn't affect the inventory item descriptions. Therefore, if you do business with customers speaking two or more languages, you may have to duplicate the items in your inventory with descriptions in all these languages. GEM-CAR supports English and French estimate and invoices models. However, inventory item descriptions can be in other languages.
