Estimates and invoices without a vehicle

If you sell items or accessories that are not related to any customer vehicles, you may want to produce clean estimates and invoices that will not refer to any vehicle. This is also good practice for managing guarantees and will help you producing more accurate sales statistics. You will find below three (3) methods for managing estimates or invoices with no vehicles.

Clients without a vehicle

You can create customer profiles or edit customer profiles specifically for customers with no vehicle. This is the simplest method for building estimates and invoicing customers without a vehicle because it will disable all vehicle-related messages, alerts and reminders for these customers. This configuration should be in force for your counter customer, for example.

Clients with one vehicle

If you need to build estimates or invoice customers with a vehicle, but you do not want this vehicle to appear on these documents, follow the steps below.

  1. Start an estimate for the customer.
  2. After having selected the customer, GEM-CAR will automatically select the vehicle. Click on the magnifying glass button adjacent to the Make field.
  3. GEM-CAR will ask you if you wish to create a new vehicle. Answer Yes.
  4. Continue building the estimate without adding a vehicle and invoice the customer normally.

Clients with several vehicles

If you need to build estimates or invoice customers who own several vehicles, but you do not want neither of these vehicles to appear on these documents, follow the steps below.

  1. Start an estimate for the customer.
  2. When prompted to select the vehicle, press Esc (escape) on your keyboard.
  3. Continue building the estimate without adding a vehicle and invoice the customer normally.
