Estimates and invoices with discounts
In this how-to, you will learn how to produce estimates and invoices with discounts. You first need to create discount categories and products in your inventory. Add discounts to estimates and invoices
Now that categories and products have been created in the inventory for discounts on labor and parts, you can add these items on estimates or invoices. To do so, follow the steps below.
- From the Point of sale, enter DISCL or DISCP (or any other product code that you attributed to discounts) in the field corresponding the Item No column and hit tab on the keyboard.
- Enter -1 in the field corresponding to the Qty column (quantity) and hit tab on the keyboard.
- Enter the amount of the discount in the filed corresponding to the Price column and hit tab on the keyboard.
- Continue building the estimate or the invoice normally.
It is important to always enter negative quantities when adding discounts to estimates or invoices. Do not enter positive values for quantities and negative values for prices instead because this could cause problems with your accounting.
