How to set fix prices for oil change kits

Setting fixed prices for oil change kits is tricky because all vehicles don't require the same quantity or oil. In fact, if you only include 1 quantity of oil on the estimate to keep the price fixed, your inventory won't balance if you use more than one oil quantities. On the other hand, if you use the real quantities, the price will multiply. Fortunately, there is a workaround. To solve the issue, follow the instructions below.

In the Management of Kits window, create an oil change kit.
When configuring the kit, select the Fixed price option.
Add oil and filter products to the kit.
Set the price of the oil product to $0 and compensate by adding the difference to the price of the filter product.

Because the oil price is set to $0, it won't multiply when adding the real quantity on estimates. Furthermore, the oil price being included in the filter price, you will charge for oil only once because the filter quantity in the kit will always be 1.
