How to associate documents with inventory items
You can associate a document with an inventory item. This way, when you add this inventory item to an estimate, when printing work orders, you will also print this document.
To associate a document with an inventory item, save it in the GEM-CAR 14 report folder, create a document model and associate it with the inventory item. To do so, follow the instructions in the instructions below.
1. Save the document in the report folder
Save the document that you want to associate with the inventory item in C:\vdata\reports\pvu.
2. Create a document model
To create the document model, follow the instructions below.
- In the GEM-CAR 14 Main menu, go to Reports > Report management.
- In the Report management menu, select the + to create a new document profile.
- Enter a name for the document model and select a document type.
- Select the Magnifying glass and retrieve the document using the Windows file explorer.
- Select the Diskette to save.
3. Associate the document model with the inventory item
To associate the document profile with the inventory item, follow the instructions below.
- In the GEM-CAR 14 Main menu, go to Inventory management > Product/Job code management.
- In the Product/Job code management window, select the inventory item on the list.
- Select the document model.
- Select the Diskette to save.
