Release note - GEM-CAR version 14.0.1

Highlights

With GEM-CAR 14.0.1, we introduce the first integration with GEM-CAR 2022. Start it from the Main menu, transfer work orders, jobs, and appointments, and use them in the new GEM-CAR 2022 Calendar. We also improved some existing features such as shipping orders, kits, security options, and measurement units and fixed some problems. See the list below for more information.

New features

• Discover the new GEM-CAR 2022 Calendar. Start it from the GEM-CAR 14 Main menu.
• Transfer work orders, jobs, and appointments to the GEM-CAR 2022 Calendar.

Improvements

• When printing shipping orders, GEM-CAR now asks to add a delivery address if it’s not configured in the customer’s profile.
• Shipping addresses added from the Point of sale are now also added as new contacts in the customers’ profiles.
• You can now associate departments with inventory kits.
• You can now show or hide prices on proposed and rescheduled estimates.
• We increased the decimals from 2 to 4 for calculations of gross margins on the cost in the price matrix.
• We added a security option to allow or disallow access to reminders in the Punch clock.
• You can now enter custom measurement units in the Product/Job code management window. When saving, they are added to the drop-down menu.
• GEM-CAR now asks for validation before doing a hidden procedure.
• Your organization number is now secured with a password.

Fixes

• We fixed bugs and problems that caused:

  • crashes when adding preventative maintenance to vehicles on computers running Windows in French (France);
  • estimate details to be deleted when doing the Correct end-of-day hidden procedure;
  • appointments to be deleted from the calendar when doing the Correct end-of-day hidden procedure;
  • unbalanced credits and debits on the Accounting transaction summary report;
  • incorrect cost price calculations in the Point of sale;
  • missing billed and planned times on the Tech time report;
  • incorrect selling price and cost calculations on the Performance report by work bay/technician;
  • incorrect margin calculations in the Current margin - window when opened from the Point of sale;
  • incorrect job real times on estimates when changing the quantities;
  • unrecorded purchases on multi-location configurations;
  • crashes when creating returns in the List of transactions window;
  • invoices to be recorded and archived with incorrect totals;
  • job cost recalculations when highlighting them in the Current margin window;
  • pop-up windows to wrongly ask for security credentials when changing quantities in the Adjustment window;
  • incorrectly recorded costs in inventory transactions;
  • the Customer history window not to focus on the vehicle when opened from the Punch clock;
  • on-hand inventory quantities not to correspond with transactions;
  • parts to duplicate when printing reports;
  • printers not to be detected when printing reports on a cloud configuration; and
  • the default warranty message to show on estimates and invoices when no warranty message is configured.

• We also fixed:

  • typographical, orthographical and translation mistakes;
  • truncated text or fields; and
  • display bugs.
