Tire storage configuration

Tire storage features are usually preconfigured in GEM-CAR 14. In the subsections below, you will find all the information concerning the tire storage configuration.

Configure the Tire storage category

To configure the Tire storage category, follow the guidelines below.

  • Category code: 100
  • Default quantity: 4
  • Category type: STORAGE
  • Description: TIRE STORAGE
  • Sales and Purchases GLs: Your sales and purchases ledgers. See with your accountant.
  • Options:
    • Post on the work order
    • Detail quantities on the work order

Configure the Tire storage product

To configure the Tire storage products, follow the guidelines below.

  • Category: 100
  • Product code: TS
  • Description: TIRE STORAGE

  • List price: Price per tire

We suggest that you create several tire storage products under the same model with different pricing for all tire types. For example, it could be TS1 for tires with rims.

Configure the Close tire storage product

Follow the instructions below to configure the Close tire storage product.

  1. In the Product/Job code management window, follow the guidelines below to configure the Close tire storage product.
    • Category: 100
    • Product code: CTS
    • Description: CLOSE TIRE STORAGE
    • List price: 0
  2. In the General information window, on the Options tab, enter the CTS product code in the Close storage field.

Configure the Return from storage product

Follow the instructions below to configure the Return from storage product.

  1. In the Product/Job code management window, follow the guidelines below to configure the Return from storage product.
    • Category code: 100
    • Product code: RTS
    • Description: RETURN FROM STORAGE
    • List price: 0
  2. In the General information window, on the Options tab, enter the RTS product code in the Return from storage field.

Store and return tires

Follow the instructions in the next subsections to add, edit, delete, close or return tire storage. After having loaded a customer's profile, you can easily know if there's a tire storage for this customer. Check the Tire storage button. When it is colored, you have a tire storage for this customer while, if it is greyed out, you don't.

Add a tire storage

Follow the instructions below to add a tire storage.

  1. In the Point of sale, load a customer profile and vehicle.
  2. Enter TS in the Item number field and select Enter 5 times to open the Tire storage Window.
  3. Enter the make, model, size, position, localization and storage type for each tire.
  4. Select the Diskette to save and, to print tire storage labels, select Print.

Edit a tire storage

Edit a tire storage

Follow the instructions below to edit a tire storage.

  1. In the Point of sale, load a customer profile and vehicle.
  2. Select Tire storage to open the Tire storage Window.
  3. Select a tire storage on the list and edit it.
  4. Select the Diskette to save and, to print tire storage labels, select Print.

Delete a tire storage

Follow the instructions below to delete a tire storage.

  1. In the Point of sale, load a customer profile and vehicle.
  2. Select Tire storage to open the Tire storage Window.
  3. Select a tire storage on the list, and then the - button.

Close a tire storage

Follow the instructions below to close a tire storage.

  1. In the Point of sale, load a customer profile and vehicle.
  2. Enter CTS in the Item number field and select Enter.
  3. Double-click the Storage on the list.

Return a tire storage

Follow the instructions below to return a tire storage.

  1. In the Point of sale, load a customer profile and vehicle.
  2. Enter RTS in the Item number field and select Enter.
  3. Double-click the Storage on the list.
