Taxes in the Point of sale

When you add items to estimates, GEM-CAR automatically calculates taxes. If special taxes correspond to inventory items or tax groups are associated with customer profiles, it will calculate taxes accordingly. If not, it will apply the standard tax group. However, you can overwrite existing tax group configurations in the Point of sale. To do so, follow the instructions below.

  1. In the Point of sale, create or retrieve an estimate.
  2. Select the inventory items on the list to which you want to apply the tax group.
  3. Select the STD button.
  4. In the Tax group management window, double-click the tax group on the list.
  5. You will be prompted with a validation message. Select Yes to apply the tax group to all items on the estimate or No to apply it to selected items only.
