Customer management

Customer management window

In the Customer management window, you will find all the configuration options related to customers’ profiles. To access this window, from the GEM-CAR Main menu, go to Customer Management > Customer management.

Alternatively, you can access the Customer management window from the Point of sale by clicking on the magnifying glass button adjacent to the Customer field.

Tabs

There are six (6) tabs in the Customer management window for which you will find dedicated pages.

Add new customer profiles

Follow the steps below to add customer profiles for new clients.

  1. Access the Customer management window.
  2. Click on the + button.
  3. Enter a customer number in the Cust. No. field. We suggest that you use the customer’s telephone number.
  4. Enter the customers’ name in the Name field.
  5. Configure other options for the client and its vehicle(s) using the fields, options and menus contained in the six (6) tabs.
  6. Click on the diskette button to save.

Delete customer profiles

Follow the steps below to delete customer profiles.

  1. Access the Customer management window.
  2. Search for and select the customer on the list.
  3. Click on the - button.
  4. Click on the diskette button to save.

You can't delete customers for which there are invoices and transactions in the history. If you try to do so, you will get an error message.

Edit customer profiles

Follow the steps below to edit customer profiles.

  1. Access the Customer management window.
  2. Search for and select the customer on the list.
  3. Configure the client and its vehicle(s) using the fields, options and menus contained in the six (6) tabs.
  4. Click on the diskette button to save.

Retrieve deleted customer profiles

Follow the steps below to retrieve deleted customer profiles.

  1. Access the Customer management window.
  2. Click on the + button.
  3. Under the Customer Information tab, overwrite the customer number in the Cust. No. field with the previously deleted customer number.
  4. Enter the name of the customer in the Name field.
  5. Click on the diskette button to save.

If the customer number and name match a previously deleted customer profile, GEM-CAR will retrieve it as well as the history, invoices and estimates related to it.

Client list reports

At the bottom of the Customer management window, you can click on the Print button to access the Client list reports in the Report window from where you can display client lists in summary, detailed or label formats.
