Change customer numbers

To change a customer number, follow the instructions below.

  1. In the GEM-CAR 14 main menu, go to Customer Management > Change customer number.
  2. In the Change client number window, enter the current customer number in the To change field or retrieve it using the Magnifying glass button.
  3. Enter the new customer number in the New field.
  4. Select the Diskette button to save.

Already used customer numbers

You can't change a customer number for one that is already used. If you try to do so, GEM-CAR 14 will warn you. Then, when saving, it will ask you if you want to overwrite the current customer and transfer all invoices to this customer number.

Merge customer numbers

You can't change a customer number for one that is already used. However, you can merge 2 customers under the same customer number. To do so, the procedure is the same as changing the customer number. If you enter a customer number that is already used in the New field, when saving, GEM-CAR 14 will ask you if you want to overwrite the current customer and transfer him or her all invoices. Select Yes to merge the two customers under this customer number.
