Users with administrator rights

You do not need to configure security options for users with administrator rights. Administrators are granted with all security rights and this cannot be changed.

In this user manual, you will find how to modify the security options in the first section and, in the following sections, you will find the information on the effect of these options.

Modify security options

To access the Security configuration window and modify security options, follow the steps below.

From the GEM-CAR Main menu, go to Configuration > Security.
From the Security configuration window, click on the magnifying glass button next to the Username field.
From the Maintenance of users window, double-click on a user on the list. If the user is not on the list, you can add a new user profile from this window.
Back in the Security configuration window, check or uncheck boxes in the arborescent list of options.

Security options

Path: Security

This is the root nod of the whole arborescence. Checking this box enables all security options.

Point of sale

Path: Security > Point of sale

This nod corresponds to the Point of sale module of GEM-CAR. Checking this box enables all security options for its dependent nods and therefore options related to the Point of sale.

Display the total amount of estimates in the invoice search window

Path: Security > Point of sale > Display the total amount of estimates in the invoice search window

This option allows users to see the real time totals with and without taxes of all documents on the list when searching in the Search window.

Punch clock

Path: Security > Punch clock

This nod corresponds to the Punch clock module of GEM-CAR. Checking this box enables all security options for its dependent nods and therefore options related to the Punch clock.

Access to reminders

Path: Security > Punch clock > Access to reminders

This option allows users to open the Reminders panel when selecting the Reminder button in the Punch clock. If it is disabled, GEM-CAR will warn users that they don't have access to the panel.

Clients

Path: Security > Clients

This nod corresponds to the Customer management section of the GEM-CAR Main menu. Checking this box enables all security options for its dependent nods and therefore options related to customers.

Customer management

Path: Security > Clients > Customer management

This nod corresponds to the Customer management window. Checking this box will enable all security options for its dependent nods and therefore options related to the Customer management window.

Indicate customer with account receivable

Path: Security > clients > customer management > Indicate customer with account receivable

This option allows the user to check the Customer with A/R box under the Customer Information tab of the Customer management window which permits creating account receivables for the customers.
