Local configuration: General data tab

Under the General data tab of the Local configuration window, you can configure settings related to various GEM-CAR features.

Font size for the calendar

You can increase or decrease the font size displayed by the GEM-CAR calendar for appointments. To do so, follow the steps below. This configuration is local. It means that it is independent from a workstation to another.

  1. Access the Local configuration window under the General data tab.
  2. Enter the font size in the Appointment grid font size field.
  3. Click on the diskette button to save.

Payment terminal

Follow the steps below to activate the integration with payment terminals. You may need the assistance of your network administrator to these settings. This configuration is local. It means that it is independent from a workstation to another.

  1. Access the Local configuration window under the General data tab.
  2. In the Payment terminal section, check either the Dejavoo or the Global payment box.
  3. Enter the static or reserved IP address of the terminal in the IP Address field.
  4. Enter the port information in the Port field.
  5. Click on the diskette button to save.

Internet Explorer version

GEM-CAR relies on Internet Explorer for some of its features. In the Internet Explorer version section, you can indicate GEM-CAR which version of Internet Explorer it must use. You can select between the four (4) following options. This configuration is local. It means that it is independent from a workstation to another.

  • None: When this box is checked, GEM-CAR will not use Internet Explorer.
  • IE 10: When this box is checked, GEM-CAR will use Internet Explorer 10.
  • IE 11: When this box is checked, GEM-CAR will use Internet Explorer 11.
  • Last available version: When this box is checked, GEM-CAR will use either Internet Explorer 10 or 11, depending on the current setup of the computer.

Follow the steps below to enable one of the options described above.

  1. Access the Local configuration window under the General data tab.
  2. Select one of the options described above in the Internet Explorer version section.
  3. Click on the diskette button to save.

Hide or show phone numbers on invoices

By default, the phone numbers of customers will show on invoices. If you send invoices by mail in windowed envelopes, you might not want the phone numbers to show because they will be visible through the window. To hide phone numbers on invoices, follow the steps below. This configuration is local. It means that it is independent from a workstation to another.

  1. Access the Local configuration window under the General data tab.
  2. Check the Do not display phone numbers on the invoice box.
  3. Click on the diskette button to save.
