Validation

When you enter or select values in fields or drop-down menus, a validation mechanism engages. Firstly, GEM-CAR validates locally if some mandatory information is missing or incorrect. If the validation process fails, it frames the affected fields or drop-down menus in red. In this case, you can't leave them nor select the Apply button to save. To know the validation failed, hover over the triangle on the top right corner of the red frames.

Secondly, GEM-CAR validates some information with the online database. In case of failure, GEM-CAR frames the affected fields or drop-down menus in red and warns you with error message 400.

In both cases, you must enter or select valid values in the affected fields or drop-down menus before continuing further.
