Schedule settings: Categories

You can use categories to configure different types of appointment and assign background colors to their badges the Calendar.

To configure categories, in the GEM-CAR 2021 Main menu, go to Schedule > Settings and select Categories.

Refresh

Before making any change, select Refresh to avoid concurrency conflicts.

Add categories

To add categories, follow the instructions below.

  1. Select the + (plus) button.
  2. Configure the options and select Apply to save.

Edit categories

To edit categories, follow the instructions below.

  1. Select Edit on the top-right corner of the badges.
  2. Configure the options and select Apply to save.

Delete categories

To delete categories, follow the instructions below.

  1. Select Edit on the top-right corner of the badges.
  2. Select the Trash can button.

GEM-CAR won't let you delete categories currently used in the Calendar. Once they aren't used anymore, you can delete them.

Configure categories

Follow the guidelines below to configure categories.

  • Code: Enter a code name for the category. We suggest that it be short and in capitals. It won't show in the Calendar.
  • Name: Enter a name for the category for all languages. One of them will show in the Calendar according to the display language. If you only use one language, enter the same name for all languages.
  • Description: Enter a description for the category for all languages. If you only use one language, enter the same description for all languages.
  • Color: Select the appointment badge background color for this category.
  • Active: Turn this toggle on to enable this category in the Calendar. Turn it off to disable the category without deleting it. See Active objects management for more information.
